Chubby Valentine Bear free amigurumi pattern
Materials:
- 2mm crochet hook
- Two colors or fingering cotton yarn. I used dark brown and red for one, and light brown and blue for the other!
- Black thread for embroidering the eyes.
- Stuffing material
- Scissors
- Sewing needle.
- Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.

HEART
With brown color yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd 12sc
• Cut the yarn and fasten off.
• Make another one following the same instructions.
• Don’t cut the yarn of the second detail. Instead, crochet together with the previously finished detail.
4 rnd 24sc (12 from one finished detail plus 12 of the one you were working on it)
5 rnd 24sc
6 rnd (10sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 22sts
7 rnd (9sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 20sts
8 rnd (8sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 18sts
9 rnd (7sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 16sts
10 rnd (6sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 14sts
• Stop here for stuffing the heart,
11 rnd (5sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 12sts
12 rnd 6dec Total 6sts
• Cut the yarn, fasten off and hide the remaining tail inside the heart.
BEAR BODY
With light brown color yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 rnd (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
5 rnd (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
6 rnd (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts
7 rnd (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 42sts
8 rnd (6sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 48sts
9 to 21 rnd 48sc
22 rnd (6sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 42sts

• Stop here for stuffing the bear,
27 rnd (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts
• Cut the yarn, fasten it off and hide the remaining tail inside the bear.
EARS
With light brown color yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 to 5 rnd 12sc
• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
• Make another one.
SNOUT
With light brown yarn chain 5. Skip the first chain and start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 rnd 18sc
• Cut the yarn and fasten off. Leave a tail for sewing.
FRONT PAW
With brown yarn start,
1 rnd 5sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 5inc Total 10sts
3 to 9 rnd 10sc
10 rnd 5sc crocheting the two sides together
• Cut the yarn, fasten off and make another one following the same instructions.
• Leave a tail for sewing it.
BACK PAW
With brown yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 to 8 rnd 12sc
9 rnd 6sc crocheting the two sides together
• Cut the yarn, fasten off and make another one following the same instructions.
• Leave a tail for sewing it.
ASSEMBLY
- Fold the ears, making them flat. Sew it on top of the bear chubby body, with a length of 5 rounds. Leaving the firsts 4 rounds between the two ears.
- Sew the snout starting in round 8 and finishing in round 13.
- Sew the front paws 3 rounds distance from the ears and 5 stitches distance from the snout.
- Sew the back paws under the chubby body, 4 rounds from the center, and leaving one stitch distance between the two paws.
- Now, position the heart between the paws. With the same yarn color you used to create the heart, give a simple stitch connecting the heart to the claws, to fasten the heart on its position.
- Embroider the eyes in round 7 with 4 stitches between them.
- Embroider the eyebrow in the round above the eye, and one stitch to the side.
- Embroider the snout in a triangle shape starting on the second round away from the body.
- Embroider 3 strings on the edge of each paw to create the claws.
