A Chunky Crochet Turtle Designed for a Special Baby Gift
The Sleeping Sea Creatures collection was made for my best friend’s first baby girl. It consists of three patterns: the chunky whale, chunky jellyfish, and finally, this beautiful and large chunky crochet turtle pattern. These cuddle-size stuffed animals are made with velvet yarn, and they are all happily sleeping! I hope you enjoy them and that they bring you as much joy as they brought me!

FAQ for Chunky Turtle Free Amigurumi Pattern
For bulky or super bulky yarn, I recommend a 6.0 mm to 7.0 mm crochet hook, tight enough to avoid gaps but large enough to stay comfy. But I suggest you crochet the first 4 rounds and see which hook gives you tighter stitches.
It usually takes about 2–3 hours, depending on your speed, how chunky your yarn is and your crochet skills!
Yes, you can! It will just come out smaller and may look a bit different in texture, but it still works beautifully. Just remember to adjust your hook to the yarn weight.
Absolutely! The shapes are simple, and there are no complicated techniques. And I made sure to shoot a full step-by-step video tutorial. A great project for newer crocheters.
