Happy new year!!! Let’s start this year with my special Lucky Bunny!!! I create this amigurumi after passing through some tough times in my personal life. Now, I want to start the year feeling lucky and share with you great positive energy! May this chubby bunny amigurumi bring happiness and luck to you at any time of the year you may be crocheting it!

Chubby Bunny free amigurumi pattern

Materials:

  • 2mm crochet hook 
  • Light weight (#2 or #3) acrylic yarn
  • Black thread for embroidering the eyes. 
  • Stuffing material
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle.
  • Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.

BUNNY AMIGURUMI BODY

With white color yarn start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd  (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

4 rnd  (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts

5 rnd  (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times  Total 30sts

6 rnd  (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times  Total 36sts

7 rnd  (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times  Total 42sts

8 rnd  (6sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times  Total 48sts

9 to 14 rnd  48sc

15 rnd  (6sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times  Total 42sts

16 rnd  (5sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times  Total 36sts

17 rnd  (4sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times  Total 30sts

18 rnd  (3sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 24sts

19 rnd  (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

• Stop here for stuffing the bunny,

20 rnd  (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and hide the remaining tail inside the bunny.

TAIL

With gray yarn start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 and 4 rnd  12sc

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

EARS

With white yarn start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

4 rnd  (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts

5 and 6 rnd  24sc

7 rnd  (4sc, 1dec) repeat 4 times Total 20sts

8 and 9 rnd  20sc

10 rnd  (8sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 18sts

11 and 12 rnd  18sts

13 rnd  (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts

14 to 16 rnd  12sc    

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and make another one following the same instructions.    

• Don’t stuff the ears. Leave a tail for sewing

PAWS

With gray yarn start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 to 10 rnd  12sc

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and make 2 following the same instructions.             

• Leave a tail for sewing

ASSEMBLY

  1. Fold the ears, making them flat. Sew it on top of the bunny ball, with a length of 6 rows. Leaving the starting row between the two ears.
  2. Sew the tail starting between rows 13 and 14 and finishing 4 rows down.
  3. Make the paws flat, and sew it leaving 2 rows distance from the tail. 
  4. Embroider the eyes in row 10 with 3 stitches between them.
