Bunny crochet teether free pattern

In this blog post, I share this super cute bunny teether crochet toy, with a complete video tutorial and suitable for amigurumi beginners. And is super easy and fast to crochet!

Bunny teething ring free amigurumi pattern

Materials:

  • 2mm crochet hook 
  • I used sports wool yarn colors blue and white. But you can use any yarn of your preference!
  • Black thread for embroidering the eyes. 
  • Stuffing material
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle.
  • Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.
  • Wooden ring (I use a 5cm diameter for this pattern, but you can use any size and adapt the blue cover part at the end. I will show you how!).

HEAD

With white yarn,

1 row              6sc in a magic ring

2 row              6inc Total 12sts

3 row              (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 row              (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
5 row              (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
6 row              (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

7 row              (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 42sts

8 to 13 row     42sc
14 row            (5sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 36sts
15 row            (4sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 30sts

16 row            (3sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
17 row            (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

• Stop here to add stuffing material before continuing to row 18.

18 row            (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and hide the remaining tail inside the toy.

EARS

With blue yarn start,

1 row                 6sc in a magic ring

2 row                 6inc Total 12sts

3 row                 (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

4 to 7  row        18sc

8 row                 (7sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 16sts

9 and 10 row   16sc

11 row               (6sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 14sts

12 and 13 row 14sc

14 row               (5sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 12sts

15 to 18 row    12sc

• Fold the ear in half, and crochet together one side to another taking one stitch from one side and one stitch from the opposite side.

19 row               6sc

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

• Make two following the same instructions.

Wood cover

With blue color yarn chain 21, skip the first chain and start

1 to 6 row      20sc, chain one and turn.

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

NOTE: if the wooden ring you are working on is bigger in length, add more chains into the detail. If the wooden ring is thicker, add more rows!

• Sew it around the wooden ring, 20 stitches from one side, with 20 stitches from the other side.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Use pins to fasten the ears.
  2. Sew the ears between rows 4 and 5 of the toy. Leaving a gap between them of 5 stitches on the backside.
  3. Then, sew the bunny on the blue part crochet cover on the wooden ring. Take the 12 stitches from the second row of the toy and sew it stitch by stitch on the blue detail.

NOTE: shake the toy a little, as you sew, to make sure the stitches are firm. If the bunny isn’t firm, sew it a bit more!
