In this blog post, I share this cute Little prince frog amigurumi. It is a simple pattern, with a complete video tutorial and suitable for amigurumi beginners. Also, it is fast to crochet!

Chubby Frog free amigurumi pattern
Materials:
- 2mm crochet hook
- Sport (or 4ply) yarn color of you preference (I used 100% cotton for this pattern) colors green and yellow
- Black thread for embroidering the eyes.
- Stuffing material
- Scissors
- Sewing needle.
- Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.

HEAD
With green yarn start,
1 row 6sc in a magic ring
2 row 6inc Total 12sts
3 row (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 row (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
5 row (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
6 row (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts
7 row (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 42sts
8 row (6sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 48sts
9 row (7sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 54sts
10 to 16 row 54sc
17 row (7sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 48sts
18 row (6sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 42sts
19 row (5sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

• Stop here for stuffing the frog,

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and hide the remaining tail inside the toy.
EYES
With green yarn start,
1 row 6sc in a magic ring
2 row 6inc Total 12sts
3 row (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 to 6 row 18sc
• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
• Make another one.
FINGERS AND HAND
With green yarn start,
1 row 6sc in a magic ring
2 row (1inc, 2sc) repeat 2 times Total 8sts
3 to 6 row 8sc
• Cut the yarn and fasten off. Make another one and fasten off.
• For the third, and this will be the middle finger, with green start,
1 row 6sc in a magic ring
2 row (1inc, 2sc) repeat 2 times Total 8sts
3 to 8 row 8sc
• Don’t cut the yarn of this third finger, instead, start crocheting together with the finished one.
FINGERS AND HAND (cont.)
Start crocheting in one stitch of one finished finger, crochet all around the 8 stitches from the finger. Then, continue to the middle finger and make 4sc. Now, attach the third finished finger and crochet 8sc around it. You will have the remaining 4sc from the middle stitch, crochet one sc inside of each.
At total you should have 24sts around the 3 fingers.
9 row 8sc from one finger, 4sc from one side of middle finger, 8sc from the third finger, 4sc remaining from the middle finger Total 24sts
10 and 11 row 24sc
12 row (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
13 and 14 row 18sc
• Cut the yarn, fasten off and make another one following the same instructions.
CROWN
With yellow yarn chain 10 and start crocheting in the last chain, closing a circle.
1 row 10sc
2 row 10sc
3 row (1sc, chain 1, 1dc, chain 1) x2, 3dc in same st, chain 1, (1dc, chain 1, 1sc, chain 1)x2, 1sl
• Cut the yarn and fasten off. Leave a tail for sewing.
ASSEMBLY
- Sew the eyes starting from the third row of the head and going down taking a length of 7 rows.
- Sew the hands between rows 20 and 21 of the head, and leave two stitches between the hands. To fix better the hands, give a final sew making a simple stitch in row 19 of the toy. Embroider the mouth starting from the edge of the eyes. Go all the way down to row 16 of the head.
- Embroider the nose in the central part of the head, in row 9.
- For the eyes, start embroidering between rows 3 and 4, going down two rows.
