Mummy Cat free amigurumi pattern

Meet the Halloween Cats! The new Little Crochet Farm collection, special edition for Halloween crochet toys!

There are other Halloween collections available that might be interesting for you to check out, the Mini Frank, Little Witch, and Chubby Black Cat amigurumi from last year.

The Halloween Cats collection comes with three free amigurumi patterns, the Cat Dracula (or cat-cula! LOL), Skeleton Cat, and Mummy Cat! They are all free written patterns on the website but this time, I couldn’t manage to make the video tutorial for the LittleCrochetFarm YouTube channel. So, maybe for the next year!

Hello there! My name is Ana! Welcome to Little crochet farm.

Here, I share my crochet creations around nursery décor, amigurumi and crochet toys for babies! Crochet tutorials, crochet lessons, paid and free patterns you can find it all here!

If you wish for an add-free printable version of this pattern, you can find it for 3 USD in Ravelry here!

And on Etsy here!

ARMS

With gray color yarn start,

1 rnd    6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  (2sc, 1inc) repeat 2 times Total 8sts

3 to 8 rnd    8sc

• Stop here to add a little bit of stuffing material before continuing to round 9.

9 rnd  4sc, crocheting the sides together, closing the arm.

• Cut the yarn and fasten it off.

• Make another one following the same instructions.

• Leave on the side for now.

BODY

With brown color yarn start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 to 6 rnd    12sc

• Cut the yarn and fasten off.

• Make another one following the same instructions. Don’t cut the yarn of the second leg, chain 3.

• Insert the loop of the needle inside one of the finished legs and continue working:

7 rnd  30sc

8 rnd  (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

9 to 12 rnd  36sc

13 rnd  (4sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 30sts

16 rnd  24sc

• Add stuffing material before continuing to next round.

•For the next round, you will crochet together with the arms.

18 rnd  4sc, 4sc with one arm, 4sc, 4sc with the other arm, 2sc.

19 rnd  18sc

NOTE: here, if your starting stitch is in a different position than mine, the arms will be placed in different position. If that is your case, you can easily change this round by finding the 3 central stitches in front of the cat. These3 stitches in front, should be the distance between the arms.

20 rnd  18blsl

HEAD

• For the next round, you will work in the remaining front loop from round 19. This will make the round 20 to be facing inside of the toy, giving a sharp edge between the neck and head.

22 rnd  (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

EARS

TAIL

With gray color yarn start,

1 rnd    6sc in a magic ring

2 to 18 rnd  6sc

19 rnd  3sc crocheting the sides together.

• Cut the yarn and leave a tail for sewing it.

BANDAGES

Here, make three bandages. One for rolling one leg and half of the body, one for rolling the other leg and the two arms, going up to the head. One for rolling the head.

FIRST BANDAGE:

With white yarn chain 101. Skip the first chain and start,

1 row  100sc

• Change to beige yarn, chain 1, and continue working on the other side of the foundation chain.

2 row  100blsl

• Cut the yarn and fasten if off. Leave a small tail for sewing it later.

SECOND AND THIRD BANDAGE:

With white yarn chain 141. Skip the first chain and start,

1 row  140sc

• Change to beige yarn, chain 1, and continue working on the other side of the foundation chain.

2 row  140blsl

• Cut the yarn and fasten if off. Leave a small tail for sewing it later.

Assembly and final details

  1. With pins, fasten the ear over the head. Sew it between rounds 35 and 34, going down 5 rounds.
  2. With the black thread embroider the eyes in round 28 leaving 3 stitches between them.
  3. Sew the tail on the center back side of the cat.
  4. With the first bandage (the smaller one), attach the little sewing it on the back side of one of the legs, and start rolling in the cat. With one of the long bandages, sew in the other leg and start rolling in the remaining parts of the body, and the two arms, if there is leftover of the bandage, go up to the head. With the third bandage, roll over the head.
  5. Leave the tail without bandages.

NOTE: for the bandages, it shouldn’t cover the complete body of the cat, leaving some see through skin between the covers.
