Crochet Mini Gingerbread Man free amigurumi Christmas pattern
Materials:
- 2mm crochet hook
- Light brown, white, a little bit of green, and a little bit of red. I used 100% cotton, sports yarn.
- Black and red thread to embroider the face.
- Stuffing material
- Scissors
- Sewing needle.
- Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.
Finish size: 6cm or (about) 2.4 inches.

Terms and abbreviations (US terms):
Single crochet (sc): insert the hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, you will have two loops on the hook, yarn over the needle, and pull it through the two loops.
Double crochet (dc): yarn over the needle, insert the hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook, yarn over the needle, inside the first two loops, yarn over the needle and pull it through the two loops left on your needle.
Increase (inc): make two single crochet inside the same stitch.
Decrease (dec): Insert hook into front loop only of next two stitches, yarn under, pull through, you will have two loops on the hook. Yarn under and pull through both loops on the hook.
Back loop Slip stitch (blsl): Insert hook into the back loop only of the stitch, yarn under, pull through both stitch and loop on hook.
HEAD
With a light brown start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 rnd (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
5 rnd (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
6 to 10 rnd 30sc
11 rnd (3sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
12 rnd (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
13 rnd (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts
• Add stuffing material to the head before continuing.
14 rnd 12blsl
BODY
• For the next round you will crochet in the remaining front loop from round 13. Round 14 will be facing the inside of the toy.
15 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
16 rnd 18sc
• Change to white color yarn,
17 rnd 18sc
• Change back to light brown.
18 rnd (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
19 to 21 rnd 24sc
• Change to white
22 rnd BL(2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
• Stop here to finish adding stuffing material,
23 rnd (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts
• Cut the yarn and fasten it off
• Place the toy upside down and attach the white yarn to the remaining front loop of round 24.
1 rnd 24sc
• Join with a slip stitch. Cut the yarn and fasten it off.
FROSTING
With a white start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
• Join with a slip stitch.
• Cut the yarn, fasten it off, and leave a tail for sewing later.
ARMS
With a light brown start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6sc
• Change to white
3 rnd 6sc
• Change back to light brown
4 rnd 6sc
5 rnd 3sc crocheting the sides together, closing the arm.
• Cut the yarn, fasten it off, and leave a tail for sewing later.
• Make another one following the same instructions.
TIE
With green yarn chain 6. Skip the first chain and start,
1 rnd 2sc, 1sl, 1sc, 4sc in the last chain turning the detail and continue working on the other side of the chain, 1sc, 1sl, 1sc, 3sc in the last chain. Join with a sl.
• Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
• Bring the yarn tail to the center of the tie (at the chain where you worked the slip stitch). Wrap the yarn around this point repeatedly until it forms the appearance of a tie knot.
• Don’t cut the yarn, as it will be used later to tie it onto the Gingerbread man
CONFETTI
With red color yarn start
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring, join with a slip stitch.
• Cut the yarn and fasten it off. Leave a small tail for sewing later
ASSEMBLY
- Sew the arms in round 15 of the toy, leaving 6 stitches of space between them.
- Embroider the eyes on round 8, leaving 3 stitches of space between them. Then, embroider the mouth right below the eyes, making it 5 stitches wide and using two rounds as size..
- Sew the frosting onto the top of the head, positioning it slightly to the side for a playful frosting look.
- Sew the tie in the center part between its neck and body.
- Sew the confetti pieces 2 rounds below the tie
