Jellyfish amigurumi free pattern

Jellyfish free amigurumi pattern

Materials:

  • 2mm crochet hook 
  • 3ply 100% cotton yarn in 3 different colors. 
  • Black thread for embroidering the eyes. 
  • Stuffing material
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle.
  • Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.

TENTACLES

Tentacles #1

With blue yarn chain 41. Skip the first chain and make 2sc in each of the 40 next chains.

Make four of this. Leave a small tail for attaching it.

Tentacles #2

With light yellow yarn chain 25. Skip the first chain and make one slip stitch inside each of the next 24 chains.

Make four of this. Leave a small tail for attaching it.

Tentacles #3

With green yarn chain 36. Skip the first chain and make 2sc in each of the next 10 stitches. Make 10hdc in the next 10 chains, and finish by making 15dc in the remaining chains.

Make only one of this. Leave a small tail for attaching it.

BOTTOM

With green yarn start,

1 rnd                      6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd                      6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd                      (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

4 rnd                      (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts

5 rnd                      (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts

6 rnd                      (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

• Cut the yarn and fasten off.

• Attach the tentacles symmetrically in this bottom detail (min 10:24 of the video)

HEAD

With blue start,

1 rnd                      6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd                      6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd                      (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

4 rnd                      (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts

5 rnd                      (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts

6 rnd                      (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

7 rnd                      (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 42sts

8 rnd                      (6sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 48sts

9 to 16 rnd           48sc

17 rnd                   (6sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 42sts

18 rnd                   42sc

19 rnd                   (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

• Change to green color yarn.

• Start crocheting together the head with the bottom part

20 rnd                   36sc connecting and closing the jellyfish head.

NOTE: before finishing all the 36sc, add stuffing material and then close completely the jellyfish (min 21:33 of the video).

21 rnd                   (Skip the first st, make 4dc inside the same stitch, skip the next st, connect with a sl) repeat all around the 36 stitches.

• Cut the yarn and fasten off.

EYES

With black yarn start,

1 rnd      8sc in a magic ring

• Join with a slip stitch changing the color to green

2 rnd      (1sl, 1inc sl) repeat 4 times Total 12slip stitches

• Cut the yarn and fasten off.

• Leave a small tail for sewing it.

• Make another one following the same instructions

EYES ASSEMBLY

  1. Sew the eyes between rounds 11 and 16. Leave 1 stitch distance between them.
  2. With white yarn, make the details inside the black part of the eyes (min 29:04 of the video)
