Cupid amigurumi free pattern
Materials:
- 2mm crochet hook
- 3 different shades of lightweight yarn (for the skin, shorts, and hair) white for the wings and red color for the heart.
- Black thread for embroidering the eyes.
- Stuffing material
- Scissors
- Sewing needle.
- Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.

ARMS
With beige yarn of your choice start,
1 rnd 5sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 5inc Total 10sts
3 to 9 rnd 10sc
10 rnd 5sc (crocheting the sides together, closing the arms)
• Cut the yarn and fasten it off.
• Leave a small tail for sewing it.
BODY
With beige color yarn start
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 to 5 rnd 12sc
• Change to blue color,
6 rnd 12blsl
• Cut the yarn and fasten it off.
• Make another one following the same instructions.
• Don’t fasten off the second leg, chain 1, and connect the two legs by inserting the loop of the needle inside one stitch of the first leg, following,
7 rnd 26blsc
8 and 9 rnd 26sc
10 rnd (11sc, 1dec) repeat 2 times Total 24sts
• Change to beige yarn. For the next round, you will work the single crochet on the third loop of the stitch.
11 rnd 24sc third loop
12 to 15 rnd 24sc
16 rnd (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
17 rnd 3sc, 5sc with one arm, 4sc, 5sc with other arm, 1sc
18 rnd 18sc
19 rnd 18blsl
• For the next round, you will work only in the remaining front loop of the previous round.
20 rnd FL (1sc, 1inc) repeat 9 times Total 27sts
21 rnd (2sc, 1inc) repeat 9 times Total 36sts
22 rnd (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 42sts
22 to 29 rnd 42sc
30 rnd (5sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 36sts
31 rnd (4sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
32 rnd (3sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
33 rnd (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
• Stop here for finish stuffing the doll.
34 rnd (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts
• Cut the yarn, fasten it off, and hide the remaining tail inside the toy.
HAIR
With yellow yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd BL(1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 rnd (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
5 rnd BL(3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
6 rnd (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts
7 rnd BL(5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 42sts
8 to 14 rnd 42sc
• For rounds 8 to 14 you will work every second round grabbing just the back loop. For example, round 8 work 42sc, round 9 work 42BLsc, round 10 42sc, round 11 work 42BLsc and so on.
• Cut the yarn and fasten it off. Leave a long tail for sewing it later.
• Attach the yellow yarn on top of the hair and start working the curls. Here, you will work on the remaining front loop that is standing outside.
• Chain 4. Skip the first chain, make 1 increase in each of the next 3 chains, and join with a sl on the front loop of the hair, make another sl on the next front loop.
• Repeat this process in all front loops of the hair.
WINGS
With white yarn chain 8. Skip the first chain and start,
1 row 6sc, 5sc in the last chain, continue working on the other side of the chain, 4sc. Leave the 2 sts unworked. Chain 1, turn.
2 row 5sc, 1inc, 1inc, 1inc, 7sc, chain 3, turn
3 row skip the first chain, 18sc. Leave the 2sts unworked. Chain 1, turn.
4 row 4sc, 1inc, 1inc, 1inc, 11sc. Chain 3, turn.
5 row skip the first chain, 14 sc, sl.
• Cut the yarn and fasten it off.
• Make another one following the same instructions.
• Leave a small tail for sewing it later.
HEART
With red color yarn start,
1 rnd chain 3, 3tc, 3dc, chain 1, 1tc, chain 1, 3dc, 3tc, chain 3, sl
• Cut the yarn, fasten it off, and leave a small tail for sewing it later.
HALO
With yellow yarn, crochet 50sc inside a magic ring.
Join with a slip stitch.
Cut the yarn and fasten it off. Leave a tail for sewing it later.
ASSEMBLY
- Place the hair on top of the Cupid head, and use pins to fasten it while you are sewing it around.
- On the back side, sew the wings on top of his shorts.
- Sew the heart a bit to the left side of the Cupid.
- Embroider the eyes on round 25 leaving 3 stitches between them.
- Sew the halo on a couple of the hair strings.
