PUMPKIN
With orange color yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 9 times Total 27sts
5 rnd (2sc, 1inc) repeat 9 times Total 36sts
6 rnd (3sc, 1inc) repeat 9 times Total 45sts
7 rnd (4sc, 1inc) repeat 9 times Total 54sts
• For the next round, we will start working on the tension round that will be hiding inside the toy. These tension rounds will create the pumpkin ribs.
8 rnd (chain 4, skp 8, join with a blsl) repeat 6 times
• For the next round, you will work only with single crochet. Here you will work 8sc normally grabbing the 2 loops of the stitch and 1sc grabbing just the remaining front loop from round 7. This will make round 8 to be facing inside the pumpkin.
9 rnd (8sc, 1Flsc) repeat 6 times
• For the next two rounds, you are back working sc normally.
10 and 11 rnd 54sc
• Now, you will repeat 8 to 11 two more times. Which will be the rounds 12 to 19.
• Before you continue to round 20, add stuffing material. Here I suggest you add inside the ribs first, and then in the full pumpkin.
20 rnd (chain 4, skp 8, join with a blsl) repeat 6 times
21 rnd (8sc, 1Flsc) repeat 6 times
22 rnd (4sc, 1dec) repeat 9 times Total 45sts
23 rnd (3sc, 1dec) repeat 9 times Total 36sts
24 rnd (2sc, 1dec) repeat 9 times Total 27sts
25 rnd (1sc, 1dec) repeat 9 times Total 18sts
• Change to the cat color yarn, in my case, I am working with the beige.
26 rnd 18blsl
HEAD
Continue with the cat color yarn. For round 27 you will work grabbing just the remaining front loop from round 25 (the one in orange). This way, round 26 will be inside of the toy, giving a sharp division between the pumpkin and the cat head.
27 rnd FL(1inc, 1inc, 1sc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
28 rnd (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

41 rnd (3sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
42 rnd (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

• Cut the yarn, fasten it off, and leave a tail for sewing it.

3 rnd 4inc Total 8sts
4 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 4 times Total 12sts
• Cut the yarn and fasten it off.
• Leave a small tail for sewing it.
ASSEMBLY
- Sew the ears between rounds 35 to 41.
- Sew the legs in the bottom central part of the pumpkin.
- Sew the arms in the pumpkin between rounds 21 and 20. Align the arms and legs for better symmetry.
- Embroider the eyes in round 34 leaving 4 stitches between them.
- Using the same thread, embroider 3 whiskers on each side of the face. Position the whiskers starting two stitches away from the eye. Each whisker should be four stitches long. The top whisker should be placed one round above the central whiskers, going up one round at the end, and the bottom whisker one round below the central whisker, going down one round at the end.
- With a little bit of pink, embroider a little nose 1 round under the eyes.
- For the brown strips on its head: With brown, make 10 chains. Cut the yarn and fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Make 2 with 10 chains and one with 14 chains. Attach them on top of the cat head using the chain with 14 chains to be the central one and the other two on each side.
- Sew the pumpkin hat on its head.
- Sew the cat’s tail on the back of the pumpkin.
- Using black thread, embroider the Halloween face on the pumpkin. Start by making two triangle shapes for the eyes and one triangle for the nose. Then, embroider a zig-zag line to create the mouth.
