Chubby Zebra free amigurumi pattern

One more pattern for the Chubby Animals collection! Today I share this chubby Zebra amigurumi free pattern. Super easy to crochet and very fast, like my favorite patterns! Chubby Zebra free amigurumi pattern

Materials:

  • 2mm crochet hook 
  • Light weight (#2) 100% cotton yarn
  • Black thread for embroidering the eyes. 
  • Stuffing material
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle.
  • Or, you can use safety eyes! The position is at the end of this post.

HEAD

With white yarn start,

1rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd  (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

4 rnd  (2sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 24sts

5 rnd  (3sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 30sts

6 rnd  (4sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

7 rnd  (5sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 42sts

8 rnd  (6sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 48sts

9 to 15 rnd  48sc

16 rnd  (6sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 42sts

17 rnd  (5sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 36sts

18 rnd   (4sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 30sts

19 rnd   (3sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 24sts

20 rnd    (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

• Stop here to add stuffing material before continuing to rnd 21.

21 rnd  (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and hide the remaining tail inside the toy.

SNOUT

With white start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd  (3inc, 3sc) repeat 2 times Total 18sts

*3inc means 1 inc following by another increase. Two single crochet in the same stitch in the next 3 stitches.

4 rnd  2sc, 3inc, 6sc, 3inc, 4sc total 24sts

5 and 6 rnd  24sc

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing it.

PAWS

With gray yarn start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd  12bpsc

• Change to white color yarn.

4 to 6 rnd           12sc

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

• Make four of this detail in total.

EARS

With gray yarn start,

1 rnd  6sc in a magic ring

2 rnd  6inc Total 12sts

3 rnd  (1sc, 1inc) repeat 6 times Total 18sts

• Change to white color yarn,

4 to 7 rnd    18sc

8 rnd  1sc, 3dec, 11sc Total 15sts

*3 dec : You will make 3 consecultives decreases. Meaning 6 sttiches becoming 3.

9 rnd  1sc, 3dec, 8sc Total 12sts

• Cut the yarn, fasten off and leave a tail for sewing it.

• Make another one following the same instructions.

 ASSEMBLY

  1. Use pins to fasten the paws around the central round of the chubby body. Sew the paws.
  2. Pin the snout 3 rounds above the paws and sew with the length of 7 rounds.
  3. Sew the ears starting on the third round of the body and finishing at round 8.
  4. With a piece of gray yarn, embroider 3 lines with surface chain stitches on each side of the cheeks. Leaving one round distance between them.
  5. Sew eyes two rounds above the snout leaving 6 stitches between them.
  6. Cut about 36 pieces of gray yarn with 10 cm length (4inches) and attach them on the top of the head, between the ears. Add more pieces of yarn if you want the hair to be more full.
  7. TAIL: with the two strings of the yarn (white and gray), chain 8. Cut the yarn and fasten off. Sew the tail on the back side of the chubby zebra. Open the plys of the yarn from the beginning of the tail.
